Supervision and debriefing with Carolyn
Practicing as a supervisor for almost 20 years, Carolyn has experience providing line management and external / clinical supervision both in Australia and in the UK.
She currently supervises individual social workers and other professionals in the fields of: Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Perinatal Infant Mental Health, Child Protection (front-line intervention and therapeutic aspects), DFV, fostering / OOHC, Palliative Care, School Link, Family Support, Drug and Alcohol and Homelessness teams.
Carolyn is also providing support and debriefing to a number of less traditional organizations, such as Policy Officers, Legal Firms and Housing Associations, around their contact with clients experiencing such issues as homelessness, family conflict, child protection, and domestic violence, as well as issues of worker safety and support.
Carolyn as published a number of journal articles about supervision (in Australian and UK journals), and runs training (see below) in this area. She is an advocate of assisting workers link theory with their practice and assisting workers develop their personal practice model. She also provides support and supervision around organisational dynamics, report writing skills, performance management and working with challenging staff.
Group Supervision
Group supervision tends to be provided on site at the workplace or online and are usually for 2 hours a session. Work will be undertaken with management and also the team to identify group supervision goals and also negotiate the most suitable model of group supervision. The focus can be clinical, educative, systemic or restorative.
